understanding neurodivergence

Welcome, I’m dr. danah.

Clinical roots in assessment

I am a licensed psychologist who has dedicated most of my clinical practice to assessing individuals who have questions about how their brain works. When adults seek my expertise, they often bring a laundry list of conflicting diagnoses, seeking a more accurate understanding of themselves. Parents, too, come to me with a similar desire—to better understand their children and support them effectively. Over the 10+ years I’ve been doing this work, the concept of neurodivergence has become my ultimate passion. We are all blessed with distinct brainstyles, and that diversity is a beautiful thing!

Expanding beyond the office

My favorite part of the assessment process is the “feedback” session. In these appointments, we go over the findings but spend the bulk of our time diving deeper into the themes of a client’s brainstyle. This creates a more transformative and empowering narrative, shedding light on their struggles and paving the way for positive change. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is guiding parents through this journey of embracing their child's unique gifts after an assessment.

As time passed, I felt driven by a deep sense of purpose to share this valuable insight with a wider audience. This led to the development of workshops tailored for mental health providers and parents of neurodivergent children. I am thrilled to expand my reach further by offering dynamic workshops to larger groups.
